Summer is just around the corner and what better time is it to think about giving your outdoor spaces a little love? I have talked a lot about remodeling and ROI on remodeling the interior rooms of a home. A lot of exterior projects have a great return as well.
Outdoor lighting, exterior doors, and garage door top the list of projects with at least a 50% return on investment. Upgrading in one (or all) of these areas increases curb appeal, which is a good thing for your neighborhood and for resale.
Outdoor kitchens, pools, and covered patios. Recent studies show that an outdoor kitchen return is as much as 200%. Trends in outdoor kitchens include beverage storage with icemaker, outdoor sink and/or dishwasher for easy clean up, multiple cooking options such as side burners next to the grill for sauces and smaller dishes, and storage options that are as functional and beautiful as the inside.

An outdoor living space has many of the comforts of the indoor spaces. The types of materials used can be more less refined as they need to be able to withstand the elements. Comfortable seating, a focal point, such as a fireplace, and an area for television watching.
Creating the environment. We humans love our creature comforts. Keeping cool in the summer with misting systems and fans and warm in the winter with heaters and fireplaces.
These should be considered in the plan.
This tropical inspired open air patio has multiple seating areas, a bar and heaters making in an ideal space year-round.
Elements that relax and inspire such as a bubbling fountain, lush greenery and a place to lie back and forget the cares of the day.
What’s on your wish list for the ideal outside space? We’d love to hear from you.
All the Best,
