Summer Design Trends

Deep in the lazy days of summer it can be hard to find inspiration for anything more than a pool float or beach sand. Outdoors is the place to play! Patios and decks have been updated for sunny swims and evening soirees, making it is easy to neglect the inside of our homes.

Design trends evolve seasonally and change often but we have gathered some tips, tricks and trends to refresh your space in the short and long-term.

  • Make your paint pop!

Selectively paint a loud and proud color as accent somewhere in your house. Add a few matching accessories and you have invited the pool party vibe inside.

  • Go big!

Glean inspiration from your latest vacation, favorite resort, or just dare to be different by using concrete painted tiles as bold bathtub surrounds or backsplashes.

  • Brass is back.

We have been seeing it for a couple of years now. Don’t fret if you have spent hours and dollars banishing the bright, shiny, gold-ish, brass from the early 90’s out of your living spaces. Trending brass fixtures, hardware and décor tends toward warm and aged… think nautical, historical and with patina. These beautiful hues can complement any décor style from farmhouse to contemporary.

  • Florals and Watercolors

Florals are throwing back to the 1960’s. Beautiful colors and patterns are softening mid-century modern looks. Pair with complimentary watercolor prints and rugs for a bright and fashionable look that is on-point for this season.

These are some great ways to keep the summer vibe all year long. Here’s to lazy days, and an umbrella in your glass.

All the Best
